Libri Dilectio: Review Policy

Review Policy

I’m a children’s librarian* and I get the question, “Got any good books?” just about every day. For this reason (and for pure enjoyment) I read middle grade and YA fiction. That’s what I blog about and what I review.

I will accept galleys, review copies, and finished copies of middle grade and YA fiction. If you are interested in having me review a book, please email me. I’d appreciate it if you’d include a synopsis of the title and whether or not there is a specific date it needs to be reviewed by. This will help me make my decision as to whether or not I am interested in the book or have the time to do it justice. I don’t have an artistic eye so I don’t accept self published books and I generally won’t review picture books, unless they really strike my interest. I would love to participate in author interviews, blog tours, and giveaways.

I cannot guarantee a good review. Yes, many of the reviews on my blog are good, because I love books and can generally find something I like in most of them. However, if I do dislike a book, I’m going to say so. I will always try to do so with tact and with a mind to the fact that just because I didn’t enjoy it does not mean someone else won’t. For a better idea of my writing style and past books I’ve featured, please read through my reviews.

As Nancy Pearl says, “Believe me, nobody is going to get any points in heaven by slogging their way through a book they aren’t enjoying but think they ought to read.” As this blog is not a job, I reserve the right to put down a book that does not interest me.
